Berring Hine consulting group was founded in 1991 by consultants with considerable experience of working with complex organisations in the public and private sectors.  Our consultants' backgrounds include senior management posts in the public and private sectors, with leading management consultancy practices (Price Waterhouse, Touche Ross and Spicer & Pegler) and leading market research consultancies (BMRB, AGB and Marketing Science)

Our management consultancy services are designed specifically for complex organisations and particularly those in transition or facing major change. Since our formation, public sector organisations have been major users of our services in the introduction of private sector best-practice within public services, whilst preserving the public service ethos.

Business change - translating strategy and policy into delivery and the realisation of benefits - is becoming the rule rather than the exception in today's environment. Our Prince2 and MSP project management services are designed to assist clients in the effective management and delivery of their programmes and projects.

Developing and delivering modern public services requires a sound understanding of the needs of the target customer group(s) and an in-depth understanding of the supporting business model and processes.  We have the ability to bring together management consultancy and market research services within a sound business context.  We can provide a full market research service for customer, stakeholder and staff consultation.

We have considerable experience of undertaking complex consultation for public sector clients using a range of survey techniques. These cover confidential and sensitive policy areas such as PAYE, Vat, Aids, drugs, contraception, alcohol, New Deal, pensions, social services and social security benefits, together with sound experience of key customer groups such as employers, jobseekers, pensioners, patients, clinicians and the voluntary sector.

We have considerable experience working with government departments and agencies on delivering modern public services. This includes helpline and call centre services, the development and implementation of customer-facing business models and complex market research with customer and stakeholder consultation programmes.

We have worked with a wide range of government departments, agencies, NDPBs and statutory and voluntary agencies.  Some of our work is illustrated in the experience section.

We have been appointed to public sector framework contracts for management consultancy, market research, IT and call centres by the Inland Revenue, COI Communications, the Employment Service and the Department of Social Security.
